Tom Fletcher from McFly has revealed he once performed a citizen's arrest. Asked about his most heroic feat as he walked up the red carpet to the Pride Of Britain Awards, the singer and guitarist told the tale of coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. "Someone tried to steal a woman's bag as she was coming out of one of the hotels in London, I ran after him and tackled the man to the ground - like a hero," he said. The band's drummer Harry Judd said he had his own superhero moment when he noticed a woman caught in the doors of an Underground train. "I rescued a woman on the tube one day. She got her head stuck in between the doors and I forced the doors back open," he said. While Danny Jones claimed simply. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host Chris Tarrant also had a heroic tale to tell. "I did once rescue a drowning dog from the River Severn in a flood. I jumped in. A little kid lost his dog and I went 'aw, I'll have to save him'. The dog just ran off," he said. And Ronan Keating once saved a friend from choking. "A friend of mine was choking actually on a lump of bread and I gave the old Heimlich manoeuvre that was pretty good. I don't even know if I did it right, but she survived," he said.
McFly are in Brazil and ahead of getting ready for their massive live shows the band found time to drop into one of the country's biggest TV shows. The next McFly charity gig for Harry Judds sacred charities BIRT and TCT is on 26th October 2008. Again Harry and the rest of the guys are humbled by what we are doing for them. Harry was amazed at the commitment of EVERYONE involved. HE has said he going to keep an eye on OUR MySpace page for updates. Harry was really sorry he couldn’t make the London gig, but thanks everyone for the support and really does thank everyone who has either bought a ticket or is going to. SO hectic are pop band McFly, they temporarily split up to be in two places at once yesterday. Heart-throbs Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter were dispatched up to us in Manchester, while band-mates Harry Judd and Tom Fletcher headed to a signing in Kent. Although when The Diary caught up with them at Zavvi , the cheeky pair came up with another reason for the absence. "We got hungry so we ate them on the way," chuckled Dougie. Bolton-raised Danny was loving being back in Manchester though - as it meant a catch up with family and friends. He said: "It's always nice to come back home, and I'm meeting my sister to go for a drink in town tonight." The lads signed copies of their new single Lies at the event - which saw a massive crowd of 1,000 fans queuing out of the Arndale Centre store all the way down to Exchange Square just to meet their heroes.

They’re a bit before my time. “Danny Wood slagged us off and it’s just like: ‘Whatever mate – you just dance and sing’.” But the sticksman has taken a shine to the Jonas Brothers. Harry added: “They came and watched one of our gigs and have always been massively complimentary of us. “They mentioned to Tom about doing some writing together and he’s up for it. “Maybe we could do a double headline show when they next come over to Britain?”
